Pi Sigma Alpha

Eta Kappa is Hope鈥檚 chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honors society.

Eta Kappa was chartered in 1975 to:

  1. Promote worthwhile curricular and extracurricular activities related to political science
  2. Stimulate scholarship and intelligent interest in political science
  3. Stimulate active interest in serving as productive citizens in a working representative democracy
  4. Support the activities of the Eta Kappa Chapter on campus

Qualifications for Membership

To qualify for membership, you must have:

  • 63 or more total credit hours earned
  • Overall GPA ranking in the top third of your class
  • At least 10 credits in political science with an average of B or better and at least one course being an upper-division course

Induction takes place every fall and spring. Students are notified by the Department of Political Science of their eligibility. Members pay a $40 lifetime membership fee to the national office.
