The 快猫短视频 Alumni Association Board of Directors has appointed five new members and elected new officers.
The board鈥檚 new members are: Maya Favors, a junior from Indianapolis, Indiana, as junior-class representative; Todd Harburn, a 1978 graduate from Twin Lake; Samantha Poon, a 2014 graduate from Washington, D.C.; Mark Rebhan, a 1985 graduate from Farmington Hills; and Jon Riekse, a 1989 graduate from Grand Ledge.
Newly elected to serve as president is Jonathan Hatfield, a 2009 graduate from Grand Rapids. He succeeds Tracey Hoesch, a 2003 graduate from Ann Arbor, who will continue to serve on the board for a year as immediate past-president. Michael Magan, a 1988 graduate from London, England, has been elected vice president, succeeding Tonisha Gordon, a 2009 graduate from Perrysburg, Ohio. Gaye van den Hombergh, a 1981 graduate from Lincolnshire, Illinois, has been elected secretary, succeeding Dr. Kiersten Krause, a 1997 graduate from Holland.
Alyson Davis of Palatine, Illinois, who was formerly senior-class representative, was appointed representative of the most recent graduating class. Liam Naumann of Wyckoff, New Jersey, who was formerly junior-class representative, was appointed senior-class representative.
The board members who have completed their service are: Lindsey Allward-Theimer, a 2011 graduate from Chamblee, Georgia; Suzanne Caltrider, a 1982 graduate from Mason; Naod Estifanos, a 2023 graduate from Bethesda, Maryland; Scott Schaaf, a 1988 graduate from Mercer Island, Washington; and Phillip Torrence, a 1996 graduate from Portage.
Favors is double-majoring in political science and Spanish, and is on the pre-law
track with an interest in immigration law. Her activities on campus have included
Student Congress; the Campus Ministries worship team; the Phelps Scholars Program,
which is a freshman-level residential academic program focused on topics related to
diversity; the Pre-Law Club; the Spera vocal ensemble; and the Nykerk Cup competition,
which features members of the freshman and sophomore classes competing in song, plays
and oration. She is a 2022 graduate of Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis.
Harburn is an independent scholar and retired orthopedic surgeon/sports-medicine physician.
He recently served as football co-team physician at Hope for 20 years, and also served
as co-team physician and assistant 
coach at Alma College. His activities as a student included the football team, where
as a senior he earned all-conference honors as a defensive back. He and his wife,
Shirley, who is a 1979 Hope graduate, have two daughters, who are also alumni: Shannon,
a 2007 graduate; and Stacey, a 2009 graduate.
Poon double-majored in political science and international studies at Hope,
and graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2018. After law school
she worked for the Chicago immigration court, and subsequently joined U.S. Customs
and Border Protection, Office of Chief Counsel in 2021. She has volunteered with
CARPLS, which is a Chicago-based legal-aid hotline, the Chicago Help Initiative and
a DePaul Law immigration legal clinic. She currently volunteers with Soultrak, an
organization that connects communities of color to the outdoors and a food bank in
her neighborhood. She was also an inaugural member of the 快猫短视频 Alumni of
Color Advisory Council.
Rebhan used his double major in English and business administration to launch a career
in marketing in advertising, focusing primarily on strategy and brand development,
and recently retired from the chief strategy officer position at advertising agency
MRM-Detroit. His community involvement includes serving as an elder, trustee and
treasurer at his church. He played varsity soccer for four years while at Hope, and
only recently retired from playing, coaching and refereeing. His wife, Kristin, is
a 1986 Hope graduate.
Riekse graduated from Hope in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in
mathematics. He went on to a 31-plus-year career with Auto-Owners Insurance, serving
in various senior leadership roles during the last 12-and-a-half years of his career.
He served on the national board of the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety
(IBHS) and was president of the board of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. He and his
wife Amy, who is a 1990 Hope graduate, enjoy their time both in Grand Ledge, where
their three daughters, son-in-law and grandson reside, as well as Gun Lake.
