Soprano Jennie Judd Reyes is known for her vocal versatility and artistry, singing repertoire that spans from the Renaissance to the present as a soloist, chamber musician and stage performer. She teaches voice in the Department of Music, which she joined in 2023. 

Professor Reyes鈥� stage credits include the roles of Blonde in 鈥淒ie En迟蹿眉丑rung aus dem Serail,鈥� Mabel in 鈥淧irates of Penzance鈥� and Laurette in 鈥淒octor Miracle鈥� with Opera Grand Rapids. She was Frasquita in the Kalamazoo Philharmonia production of 鈥淐armen鈥� and performed as a soloist with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra and Illinois Valley Symphony. 

Her recent performances of early music have included appearances with the Holland Bach Society (鈥淣un komm, der Heiden Heiland鈥� BWV 61), VoxGR (鈥淗erz under Mund und Tat und Leben鈥� BWV 147), Gaudete Choral Ensemble (Pergolesi鈥檚 鈥淪tabat Mater鈥�) and Zeeland Civic Chorus (Handel鈥檚 鈥淢essiah鈥�). 

She greatly enjoys interdisciplinary collaborations and was recently seen as a narrator and soloist alongside Deos Contemporary Ballet in the company鈥檚 Ember Series 2024 in Grand Rapids.

Outside of teaching and performing, Professor Judd enjoys beach trips to Tunnel Park on Holland鈥檚 north side, experiencing live theater, gospel music, salsa dancing and traveling with her husband, Eric.
